Master of e-Business The Master of E-business aims at achieving the following qualifications: Cognition: 1. Insight into the internal functional processes of an organization (industrial environment, non-profit organization, or public administrations). 2. Insight into the relationships and processes amongst organizations and in all practical aspects of the market economy. 3. A thorough insight into the different aspects of E-Business: legal, juridical, fiscal, commercial, organizational, IT technical and design aspects. 4. Insight into the technology of networks and the particularly of the Internet. 5. A profound understanding of the J2EE platform that figures as the model for all dynamic Internet applications. 6. A knowledge of the structure and working of ERP systems. 7. A thorough insight into knowledge representation. 8. A thorough insight into the concepts of the IT audit process. 9. A thorough insight into the management aspects of an IT organization. Competencies: 10. The basic skills to be able to reflect in a scientific, independent, and critical manner on problem situations within organizations. The master is capable of formulating the pre-assumptions of every statement and to use that as a starting point for further reasoning, drawing on the scientific paradigms that are being discussed throughout the program. 11. The master is capable of formulating constructive and adequate solutions in complex situations, understandable to both peers in the field and laymen. 12. The master is able to lead a project team. 13. The master is able to follow and support the technical work of IT experts and offer assistance with difficult problems around HTML, XML, J2EE, and ERP interfacing. 14. The master is able to draw up procedures and methods, and to introduce and retain them for the further development of complex software. 15. The master is capable of conducting scientific research in a creative and original manner about E-Business operational processes, using scientific methods and techniques, with an eye on the ongoing broadening of knowledge and insights and making an original contribution to the field. 16.
