| Leerresultaten | The European Economic Studies Programme offers students a comprehensive coverage and critical analysis of the process of European economic integration. Courses are designed to provide students with a deep knowledge and thorough understanding of EU policies and the European economy in general. The general programme places strong emphasis on public policy, while courses provide a balance between economic theory and applied economic analysis. It covers the process of European economic integration, its policies, market functioning and regulation. Career perspectives lie in the European, international and national public sectors, in European business and in the non-profit sector The European Economic Integration and Business specialisation combines a high level economic analysis of European integration with an understanding of business and corporate strategy. Business case studies enable students to learn how the European Union affects companies, and how a company or a sector develops an EU strategy vis-à-vis policy makers. Career perspectives lie in the business sector and in the public sector at national, international or European level. The European Law and Economic Analysis specialisation allows economists to understand the institutional legal framework underpinning different markets and a range of Community policies. Economic analysis of European law already contributes significantly to policy-making in the EU and has become a necessary component in several categories of case-law of the Union. The specialisation adds value to the current curricula of economists through a deeper knowledge and understanding of the other discipline. It enables them to economists to ‘interconnect’ with lawyers more easily, and is thus directly useful in such areas as competition policy, EU regulation and liberalisation initiatives or network markets. |
